How to Apply for a Driver’s License (2020)

Reminder: I applied for Non-Pro A/T car driving. Also, yung mga fees might be a bit different depende sa Driving School and LTO Branch na pupuntahan nyo.

Step 1: 15 Hours Theoretical Driving Course
Mag inquire sa LTO or any LTO accredited Driving School near you for Theoretical Driving Course (15 hours). 3 sessions to na sunod-sunod so plan ahead. Online course yung tinake ko.

Fee: 1,800 (A1 Driving School)

Step 2: Written Exam

After nyong macomplete yung 15 hours, magpasched kayo sa driving school for the written exam (sa driving school pa rin). You need to pass it since sila magsusubmit ng certification nyo na nirerequire ni LTO for Student Permit application. In my case, 100 items siya.

Once naipasa nyo na, iuupload ni Driving School yung certificate nyo na you passed, and meron din kayong marereceive na printed version.

Step 3: Student Permit Application

Complete nyo yung requirements nyo for Student Permit application:

  • Birth Cert
  • Theoretical Driving Course Cert
  • Accomplished Application Form
  • Medical

Fees:

  • Medical – 450
  • Student Permit Fee – 318

Mabilis lang naman processing niya. You’ll be informed na after 1 month kayo pwedeng mag apply for Non-Pro. Then yung medical nyo will last for 2 months. So, plan ahead.

Step 4: 8 Hours Practical Driving Course

Need nyo maginquire ulit for the 8 hours Practical Driving Course naman. Depende pa rin sa choice nyo but in my case, sa Gear 1 ako nag enroll. Sa kaso ko, inantay ko muna mag 1 month yung Student Permit ko bago ako nagenroll for practical.

Fees:

  • 8 Hours Practical – 7,520 (for A/T)
  • Cert Printing – 200

Sa case ko, it was divided into 4 sessions, 2 hours each. Sa last session ko, mismong araw na rin yun ibibigay yung cert for the course completion.

Nakiusap lang ako kina Ma’am and Sir na iupload din agad yung cert ko sa LTO right after I passed it para makaabot ako sa LTO (para makakuha ng Non-Pro license same day)

Step 5: Non-Pro License Application

So right after nga ng last session ko sa practical, dumiretso na ako agad sa LTO. There, you’ll need the following:

  • Student Permit plus the medical and other attached documents nung nagapply kayo ng Student Permit
  • 8 Hours Practical Driving Course Cert
  • Accomplished Form

Sundan nyo yung process sa loob and be mindful sa mga windows na pag-aantayan nyo.

May magiging checklist kayo dun which is 8 parts, so be patient 😅 That includes:

  • Docs Checking
  • Public Portal Registration
  • Payment for Computerized Exam
  • Biometrics/Photo/Sig
  • LTMS Exam
  • Actual Driving Test
  • Payment for Driver’s License
  • Releasing

Fees:

  • Computerized Exam – 100
  • Non Pro Application – 585
  • Actual Driving Test – 250 (Since di ko dala sasakyan)

TOTAL = 11,223 😅😭 (Mahal talaga ☹️)

Shinare ko lang po yung naging expi ko, na hndii naging madali. Pero since no choice eh kelangan magkalisensya 😅 So, happy na rin, di nga lang sa gastos at pagod 😅 Tsagain nyo sana. Hehe

**Sa mga nag aask po, sa likod na po nakaindicate kung Non-Pro or Pro po, nakatapat po sa DL Codes
